Mono Prints and Mono Types

 " A Monotype is a singular image, printed with manipulated pigment alone, from a smooth, un-etched, uncarved surface.   


A Monoprint is similar, in that it's a one of a kind print - made so by the artist's manipulation of pigment - but with some element of repeatable mark - from either the plate (EX: if the surface has etched linework) or something added to the matrix other than pigments (EX: the use of stencils or other repeatable mark-makers)."
